Thank you, as always, for being involved in this work in a powerful way through your prayers. We are so blessed by each of you and look forward to spending an eternity together praising God for what he has done here in Morelia.
If you follow the blog, you should recognize Saúl. He was just baptized a few weeks ago, but the Lord has done amazing things in his life in a short time. He has definitely seen how the Lord has been preparing him for this walk all his life. Pray that he will continue to feel the Lord’s leading in a mighty way and that the Lord will raise him up to be a servant leader.
This is Saúl’s wife, Evelia. She has been the pray support that has brought her husband to the Lord. She has such a servant’s heart and has already offered on many occasions to help in any way possible. Praise the Lord with her for her reunited family and pray that God continues to use her to bless her family and the lives of everyone around her.
Many of you have prayed with us for Morelia for quite some time and you all rejoiced with us when she put the Lord on in baptism at our last church retreat. As we all know, that was just a step in her faith walk with God. Please continue to pray for her, as she grows closer to the Lord and pray that she can be a light to her entire family. Pray that God will fill her up to overflowing with his joy and peace that surpasses all understanding.
Herlinda works in the shop on the bottom floor of our offices. The Lord has also worked in her life in an amazing way and has already helped her to let go of so many things that used to separate her from the love of Christ. She has experienced much pain in her life and we ask that you pray that the Lord will take away those painful memories and replace them with his love.
Pepe and his family have been members of the church for over a year now. Pepe, however, struggles with how best to provide for his family and worries about their financial situation. We don’t know for sure if he’s going to make it to the retreat because of those worries. Please pray that the Lord convinces him that this will be a good use of his time and that he speaks to Pepe in this time about growing into the role of servant leader with his wife.
Reina has an incredible heart of service that has led her to co-lead a cell group already, along with one of our members, Rosa. Reina was quite nervous about this undertaking, but know that God will give her the wisdom she needs to do it. Please pray that her faith in the Lord continues to grow and that she will rely on Him in everything. Pray that God will be her source of strength throughout the struggles the enemy sends her way.
Daniel is Pepe and Reina’s youngest son. He is also an active member of our young people's cell group. He had many health problems as a child, but the Lord has brought him through that in an amazing way. Please pray that he will be able to focus on school and graduate on time and also that he will continue to be involved with the young people at church. We’d love to see him co-leading our cell multiplication around the end of the year.
You may remember that in the fall, the owner of the hall that we rent on Sundays allowed us to put up a permanent sign advertising our Sunday celebrations. Thanks to that sign, Pepe and his wife Ángeles began meeting with us. They have been Christians for many years, but hadn’t found a church home recently. Pray that the Lord raises Pepe up as a role model to the men here of what true Christ-centered masculinity looks like.
Pepe’s wife, Ángeles, has also been a Christian for quite some time. She has seen the Lord’s miraculous hand in her family and is excited to be used by him to grow his church. Pray for continued health for both her and Pepe and for their entire family. Also pray that soon the both of them will be co-leading a cell together, if that is the Lord’s will for them. They both bring so much wisdom and years of service to this church. We are so thankful!
Lastly, we have one more Ángeles. She moved to Morelia about six months ago and was looking for a church home when she happened to see the sign at our office. She went in to get more information and walked into a cell group that was just starting. And she’s been there ever since! She is very open to learning from the Lord and wants to serve him with her whole life. Please pray that the Lord will continue to guide and direct her in his truths.
