Happenings in Morelia: March 2008

Today (March 16th) was one of those perfect ministry days. As a friend said, it's just one of those days that make it all seem worthwhile. There were so many unknowns, quite a few things forgotten or not completely planned out and a crazy wind that kept trying to blow down the screen. But at the same time it was perfect because the Lord was there and he worked it all out. An idea that started about two years ago, brought a group of college students down a year ago to renovate a park. Seeing that park renovated brought a family to church, who in turn brought their extended family. And today, exactly one year later, the couple, Nestor and Flor Guinto, were baptized. And to top it all off, some of the group that was here last year for the park renovation were here today to see first hand what the Lord did through them. Man, it doesn't get much better than that! Only God can plan out something as awesome as that.
And, to top it all off (as if it needed topping!), a third precious soul was added to the kingdom today. Estella came with her friend Josefina, one of Morelia's neighbors, to enjoy the open air with us. She ended up eating with Maria Luisa, Sam's mom, who is in town for these next couple of weeks. If any of you know Maria Luisa, you know that she is passionate about the Lord and sharing his love with others. She started talking to Estella during lunch and they continued talking afterwards and right when we were getting ready for Nestor and Flor's baptisms, Estella came forward and said she was ready to commit her life to Christ as well. So please join us in rejoicing with the angels for the souls of these three precious people. Isn't God amazing?
